Brief Bullying Tips for Parents

Communication with your child is key, you must know what is going on during their daily lives when you are not there. Most bullying occurs on the bus, at the lunch table, or even as recess. It is important to ask questions, but you do not want to be overly aggressive with them. Ignoring the situation though will only make matters worse.

Set up a meeting with the parents of the bully and the bully him/herself. Have them confront each other in a non hostile environment while you and the other child’s parents are present.

If you are unable to set up this meeting, then immediately contact your principle and have them do it. It is the schools duty to deal with situations involving bullying.
