Kidnapping Prevention Seminar-Saturday, September 27th

August 26, 2008

One of my dear friends, Master Gary Baylor from Cheshire, Connecticut told me a horrible story about something that happened right around the block from his house. For those of you who heard about the terrible home invasion in Connecticut, it was a terrible tragedy, and one that I will not go in great detail to talk about. However, me and Master Baylor and several other school across the world will be hosting a kidnapping prevention seminar for members of the community. In addition we have added many tips and strategies to help the families make sure that nothing like this can happen to them. So If you would like to have your family attend this event please do the following.

Champions trip to Vancover a BLAST!!!

August 26, 2008

If you haven’t heard about the trip to Vancouver yet, please see Debbie Reid or Kim Tana. The trip was a huge success, and we hope next year more families are able to attend. This year, Tyler and Chris Reid, Justin Tana, Ben Leusner, Leon “Never Nervous” Purvis, Jarad Kears, Sensei Jon, and myself had an AWESOME time. It started with a tour of beautiful British Colombia from Sir Sean of Champions, Vancouver. He gave me and Sensei Sensei Jon a phenomenal tour of the beautiful city.

Afterwards, we met up with Jon Malach and had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver, Earl’s. It was a great time where me, Sensei Jon, Jon Malach, and Sir James of Champions had a great time and just caught up. The following day, we met all our families at the Champions, North Vancouver. Our students never saw such an amazing facility. With over 10, 000 square feet, three training floors, and full locker rooms and showers, the students were in AWE.

On Tuesday, it was the best day of my life……After camp, Sir Sean took me and Sensei Jon to the Casino, and I walked away winning 225 in 3/6 no limit Texas. Then we went back to Champions, and Master Farid had a black belt class and was kind enough to let our color belt students participate. This class started with Sensei Ingrid doing an awesome warm up for about 15 minutes. After that MF took over and worked us hard. I had to go off the mat, and go outside because of stomach problems. Afterwards, the whole group took pictures, and it was just a great experience for the kids. MF, Sensei Ingrid, Sir Sean, Sensei Dean and the rest of the Champions Team were all very hospitable to our school.

At our upcoming Black Belt Extravaganza in October, Sir Sean and Sensei Dean are hoping to make it out for the trip. And please see Debbie Reid, if you are interested in coming with us next summer. We are starting early this year with fund raising for the trip. For more information, please send me a n email and I will forward it to Debbie Reid. Please send information requests to senseinick@championswayoflife.com.

Back to School Edge Program Starts next Week-Register Today

August 25, 2008

The Champions Back to School Edge program was created to give our students an edge when going back to school. As leaders, we are always teaching ourselves leadership, attitude, and any other areas of personal growth. We know that these skills need constant teaching, if you want to grow. I am fortunate to have one of the best martial arts mentors on the planet. He has taught me alot about winning, life skills, and business.

I have two step children, and a foster child in my life. And as a parent it is sometimes difficult to teach your own children, especially when they get to the teen age years. That’s why it’s important to have them involved in activities like the martial arts or sports. These activities develop the skills that they don’t teach in school. These skills should include the following; leadership, decision making, work ethic, community service, health awareness, and goal setting. If your child is not getting this from his/her sport or activity then it’s time to look for something else.

One thing I have learned from my mentor is time is too valuable to waste. If your not growing from the experience then its time to move on, because you can’t get time back. The 10 week edge program is not just for kids, its for adult as well. Ask yourself these questions, and then send me an email confirming that you will start with this next week.

1. When was the last time, you or your child worked on personal growth?

2. When was the last time you read a book on leadership?

3. When was the last time you or your child did something for the community?

4. When was the last time you or your child were involved in a program that teaches health awareness?

5. Do you want to see yourself go to the next level?

6. How committed are you to success?

If you would like to get started on this program, please start with the first assignment and have you vision board by Saturday, September 6Th 2008 at 1:00/ This will be our first workshop. For any students that started in the summer, please attend this meeting, and start over with the program. We have made some updates, and would like to get as many people involved a possible. Adults, please don’t be afraid to get involvedas well, with all of life’s pressures and challenges this is something that would be great for you.

Please send me an email to senseinick@championswayoflife.com.

Yours in the martial arts,

Sensei Nick
